3. Religious Proclamation for Animal Compassion

1. Ministry for God’s Animals Resources
The CVA is preparing resources for Ministry for God’s Animals information tables. We have an attractive cover letter to encourage permission from pastors and other church leaders, and we are developing handouts. We anticipate having new materials available every two months, with the concept that churchgoers were offer respectful, non-threatening literature to church members bimonthly.

Please contact Lorena at lmucke@bellsouth.net for more information.

2. Activist Feedback
Holly Roberts, author of two wonderful books Vegetarian Christian Saints and The Vegetarian Philosophy of India, tabled for three days during "Non-violence Week" at Georgian Court University. She writes:

Thank you so much for all the pamphlets and material you sent to us. Our leafleting and speaking with students went wonderful. I just hope we touched people's souls.

The tables were in two locations - outside the dining hall and in the corridor between the library and snack shop. I believe we may have reached almost every student on campus. Three students helped my husband and me. As the school is a small Catholic almost all female school, there are very few activist events. Therefore, the students, Sisters of Mercy, Priests, and professors were very eager to learn about the subject we were speaking about so passionately: "Non-violence Toward All Beings."

Students listened politely as we asked to share the concept of merciful living with all creation and all creatures with them. We did not get face even one negative remark, and just a few people were too busy to even take a leaflet. Your leaflets were wonderful. Students were looking at them carefully and quietly.

During my two hour lecture Thursday evening, students were very receptive. I tried to instill in them the message that violence can never lead to kindness and peace. I discussed the findings of the U.N. report "Livestock's Long Shadow," showed a movie of livestock brutality, and discussed the health benefits of vegetarianism (I'm a retired physician).

It is difficult to know how many people we actually touched emotionally and spiritually, but for the sake of the innocent animals and for our blessed planet, I can only pray.

Thank you so much for all of your help, support, and work.

Holly Roberts

3. Religious Proclamation for Animal Compassion
The web site below seeks signatures in order to make a strong statement for animals among people of faith. Please visit and sign up – it’s easy and important.

May I bring to your attention (with apologies if you have already be made aware of it) to the following petition in support of A Religious Proclamation for Animal Compassion. The web site is self explanatory. May I request that you forward it to as many of your friends and subscribers as possible. The petition is currently attracting approximately 1000 signatures each day, but we have a long way to go before reaching the target of 1.000.000 - I am sure that this could be easily surpassed if only it could be brought to the attention of all animal friends of faith.
