The results of a study carried out by the University of Maryland,
Google and the United States government indicates that we are losing
the equivalent of 50 soccer fields of forest every minute. Very
sadly, the rate of deforestation in the Amazon rain forest increased
28% between 2012 and 2013, mainly for growing crops in its place.

Losing Ground in the Amazon.
Forests are the lungs of our planet and home to innumerable
species of fauna and flora. Factory farming helps drive
deforestation worldwide, including the Amazon rain forest, because
of the need for space for cattle grazing and also to grow crops for
cattle feed. Therefore, taking a stand against deforestation
requires a commitment to eat sustainable foods and to avoid animal
products.
