Feminism and Veganism
Angel Flinn, Director of Outreach for Gentle World, explores the issues that seem to link feminism to veganism. The exploitation of the female reproductive system is a crucial aspect that allows the mass production of animals raised for food. For example, the reality of dairy production, which is one of the most abusive systems that have ever existed in the animal-based agriculture system, should prompt anyone --women especially-- to stop supporting this industry.

Female animals raised for food are the most exploited animals in the industry. They have the amazing gift of being able to give birth and nurture their infants. What we do to these animals is beyond cruel: we impregnate them artificially, steal their milk or eggs, and also steal their babies; we then kill them after they are no longer of use. No love, no mercy, no justice.
