More and more parents have children who want to adopt a
plant-based diet for numerous reasons: animal suffering, environment
and health. Many parents are unsure if a plant-based diet is
appropriate for children but now they can feel safe allowing and
supporting their kids adopting a veg diet because of the abundant
scientific evidence.
In fact, the
Academy of
Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic
Association) says that “well-planned vegetarian diets are
appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle,
including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence,
and for athletes.”
