Christian Vegetarian Association Presents:
Take Heart!
14,000 Dead Pigs in Chinese River

Approximately 14,000 dead pigs are floating down the river in Shanghai, China. Residents have been told nothing else except not to worry. The government has not explained where those dead pigs came from or why they were dumped in a river that supplies drinking water to 23 million people.

Please visit After two weeks and some 14,000 pig carcasses, Shaghai residents have been told that drinking water is safe, but not much else:

While residents in Shanghai should, of course, be worried about the quality of their water after the dumping of these dead pigs, it seems that people should also ask themselves how these sentient beings ended up dead and disposed of as if they were mere objects. Factory farming around the world is one of the biggest polluters of water, land and air. Being stewards of God’s Creation should drive us to support sustainable industries. Factory farming is surely not one of them.
