Reverend Austin Miles has written a fantastic piece exposing and
questioning Rep. Steve King's (R-Iowa) morality. Rev. Miles lists
King’s extensive "callous and uncaring" voting record against animal
welfare in the last 9 years, and calls this behavior “disturbing”
and “sinful”. A few examples of animal-related legislation that King
has opposed include: an amendment cracking down on bear baiting on
federal lands, a bill banning horse slaughter for human consumption,
an act strengthening penalties for dogfighting and cockfighting, a
bill prohibiting the sale of primates as pets and several other
pieces of legislation aimed at protecting wildlife species.

Indeed, Mr. King’s clear opposition to alleviating the suffering
of God’s animals is callous and merciless. Let’s hope people learn
about this and stop supporting him and his agenda, which is
obviously backed by people who benefit from the exploitation of
these innocent creatures.
Mr. King should also be recipient of
our compassion; because those who lack empathy for the pain of
others have also been shown little empathy and compassion. After
all, in this web of love, God’s Creation, we are all connected. Once
we see ourselves in others we don’t want to cause pain and
suffering.
