Rhode Island has become the ninth state to pass farm animal
protection legislation. Gov. Lincoln Chafee signed into law
S.2191/H.7180 that prohibits the extreme confinement of breeding
pigs and veal calves in small crates, and the unnecessary and
inhumane practice of cattle tail docking.

Little by little ethics and compassion are replacing cruelty and
