Most people have heard about the "pink slime" (ground-beef
filler) that has shaken consumers although our government officials
seem to believe there is nothing wrong with it because they approve
it for consumption. Should it surprise us? Not a bit. Just check out
the regulations and inspections set for poultry slaughterhouses.

The animal
agriculture business is out of control. Ethics, compassion, public
health and even respect for consumers have no meaning to this
industry. However, as long as consumers keep supporting them by
buying their products, the larger and more powerful they get.
Christians are called to participate in the reconciliation of God’s
Creation. I believe this is possible when we align our faith with
our values and choices. In this case, supporting the meat, egg and
dairy industries goes against our Christian faith.
