ABC News’ “What Would You Do?” is sure to stir some debate on their
latest episode filmed at the Mason Jar Grill, in Mahwah, N.J., which
will be aired tonight at 9pm ET. The show will feature a couple of men
who try to force a young girl to eat a hot dog after the girl’s mother
had clearly said that the family does not eat meat, dairy or animal
by-products. One of the comments from one of the men urging the girl to
eat the hot dog was: “Everyone eats hamburgers, it’s un-American not to
eat meat.”

I think this episode will expose how ignorance about plant-based
diets can lead to believing some myths surrounding it, such as “veg
diets lack in protein”. Fortunately, thanks to scientific evidence and
organizations such as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, more
people are learning that plant-based diets are appropriate for all
stages of life and have many advantages over meat-based diets.
