Florida Bill is Dead
I'm thrilled to announce that the Florida bill the ag industry had
introduced to ban whistle-blowing at factory farms by making it a crime
to take photos or video of what's happening inside these facilities, is
officially dead! Paul Shapiro, senior director of farm animal protection
for The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) said, "These
draconian bills to silence whistle-blowers show just how far the animal
agribusiness industry is willing to go, and just how much the industry
has to hide," ... "It's our hope that lawmakers in Iowa and
Minnesota—the two other states with similar bills pending—will follow
Florida's lead and reject these irresponsible proposals."
