Take Heart!

Introduction of New Bill

Given the legalized abuse on farmed animals, more people are pushing for new legislation to prevent such atrocities. Representative Jason M. Lewis (D-Winchester) and Minority Whip Senator Robert Hedlund (R-Hingham) have introduced a state bill named the Massachusetts Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act that addresses the cruel and inhumane treatment of confining farmed animals in cages where they are deprived of their most basic standards of care. The law would prevent three of the worst factory farm abuses: veal crates for calves, battery cages for egg-producing hens, and gestation crates for female pigs and piglets.

Thanks to the tireless work of animal advocates, who continuously expose the victimization of farmed animals, more people every day are urging their government leaders to pass new legislation in order to alleviate the suffering of God's farmed animals. Although these laws are crucial, it is imperative that people stop supporting the industries that abuse these animals. The transition to a plant-based diet accords with Jesus' message of compassion, mercy and love.
