What Industrial Fishing is Causing to Fish Populations
A new study published in the Nature Communications journal by
Callum Roberts and Ruth Thurstan, explains the devastation that
industrial fishing has on fish stocks. After analyzing the data,
they found that industrialization of fishing had led to relentless
exploitation of stocks to the point that British fish stocks have
dropped by 94 percent in the past 118 years. Thurman's message to
the public is that she hopes "...this allows people to realize just
how much the seas have been altered and how much has been lost."

We might be getting really close to the point of no return as far
as the state of the oceans is concerned. Most of us don't think
beyond the taste and cost of food once it reaches our tables;
however, it is our duty as stewards of God's Creation to find out
and learn how our food is produced and at what ethical,
environmental and health costs. Only then we can be informed to make
informed decisions about our choice of diet.
