New BSE Case in Canada
A new case of BSE (bovine spongiform encephalopathy, most
commonly known as mad cow disease) was confirmed in Canada, raising
the number to 17 since 2003. In this case it was a six-year-old cow
in Alberta, who --according to officials-- did not enter the human
or livestock food chain.
