“Lose Weight in Order to Graduate from College” on last Friday’s issue
one member shared with us his perspective:
“I really like the Take Heart! e-notes, but I don’t fully agree with
your comments about Lincoln University. For one thing, a lot of “junk
food” has nothing to do with animal products, such as potato chips and
French fries. For another, requiring students to take a physical
education class in order to graduate from an academic institution raises
some issues about how paternalistic an institution should be. I think it
is fine to offer and encourage physical education (and nutrition)
classes for people with obesity, but I’m not convinced that requiring
such classes is appropriate.” ~Steve.
