Mass Slaughtering of Pigs Due to Swine Flu
A mass slaughter of 14,000 pigs has taken place is some farms in
Norway. Some of these pigs have been infected with the swine flu and
authorities believe that mass slaughtering them will prevent the
spread of swine flu to other farms. “What has happened is that the
animals have received the infection through contact with a human who
has been carrying the disease. We take this very seriously, since we
have never before encountered pigs with swine flu in Norway”, said
director of the Norwegian Food Inspectorate, Kristina Landsverk to
NRK.

back and forth between humans and pigs, which should serve as a real
warning that the way we are treating God’s farmed animals hurts
them, our health and the environment.
