Danger of Factory Farming Underestimated
According to Gerardo Nava of the National Autonomous University of
Mexico and colleagues, who wrote a report about the swine flu and was
published in the online journal Eurosurveillance, "This virus most
likely evolved from recent swine viruses," and "... findings indicate
that domestic pigs in North America may have a central role in the
generation and maintenance of this virus." Nava believes that fears of
damaging the pork industry may have led animal and human health
officials to underestimate the danger of raising pigs in factory farms.

Treating God’s animals without compassion and mercy has only led to
causing misery to them and the rest of God’s Creation. From
environmental damage to “super bugs” that are threatening our health,
factory farming is a disgrace to God’s Creation and to our sacred role
as stewards of it.
