The Worst Way of Farming

The New York Times' editorial on May 31 titled "The Worst Way of Farming" exposes the reality behind factory farming where millions of animals are crowded together in inhumane conditions, causing significant environmental threats and unacceptable health risks for workers, their neighbors and the rest of us. The reports by the Pew Charitable Trusts and the Union of Concerned Scientists recommend new regulations such us a phasing-out of confinement systems, a ban on antibiotics used only to promote animal growth and strict pollution regulation.
