Fish Personalities

According to researchers at the University of Guelph (Canada), common Canadian brook trout exhibit different personality traits such as: some social, others not, some risk-takers, others scaredy-fish, etc.

We tend to look at the animals we eat as mere objects or commodities; otherwise, if we acknowledge their sentience, instincts, needs and individual traits, we'd probably find it much harder to exploit them. Many compassionate individuals have given up eating beef, pork and poultry, but continue eating fish, although these animals suffer as well. When we extend our circle of compassion to all of God's creatures we are actively participating in the reconciliation of God's Creation here on Earth.
