Livestock Greenhouse Gases Contribution
Abundant evidence points to the
fact that anima agriculture is one of the top contributors to the
world's most serious environmental problems, such as water
pollution, species loss, global warming gases, deforestation and use
of natural resources indiscriminately.
According to the United Nations,
livestock are responsible for 18% of greenhouse-gas emissions
worldwide, which accounts for more than all the planes, trains and
automobiles on the planet. However, little attention is given to
this subject while politicians, environmental lobbyists and other
green activist groups almost never discuss it. Most of the focus is
given to carbon dioxide emissions while, but as the article's writer
puts it "livestock emissions are no joke."
