More Cattle Slaughtered Due to Foot and Mouth Disease

Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Britain's farm ministry has ordered the slaughter of cattle on a farm in Surrey on suspicion of foot and mouth disease. The seventh positive test was confirmed on Oct 1, 2007. The outbreaks of foot-and-mouth and bluetongue led to an EU ban on British exports of fresh meat, live animals and dairy products, causing an estimated damage of tens of millions of pounds.
