More Cattle Slaughtered Due to Foot and Mouth Disease

and Rural Affairs Britain's farm ministry has ordered the slaughter
of cattle on a farm in Surrey on suspicion of foot and mouth
disease. The seventh positive test was confirmed on Oct 1, 2007. The
outbreaks of foot-and-mouth and bluetongue led to an EU ban on
British exports of fresh meat, live animals and dairy products,
causing an estimated damage of tens of millions of pounds.

The intense confinement and
suffering to which God’s animals are subjected in today’s factory
farms has led to the increase of disease transmission. We cannot
expect that our poor management of God’s animals and resources has
no negative effects. As long as the demand for animal flesh
continues, we will continue to deal with the results of exploiting
God’s animals for taste and profit.
