US Religious Leaders Unite Against Global Warming
Christian, Jewish and Muslim
leaders are urging the US President and Congress to take action
against global warming. More than 20 religious groups signed an open
letter that stated, "Global warming is real, it is human-induced and
we have the responsibility to act,"... "We are mobilizing a
religious force that will persuade our legislators to take immediate
action to curb greenhouse gases."
This letter will run in Roll Call
and the Politico, two Capitol Hill newspapers on Tuesday (06/05/07).

Religious leaders urge action on warming
As Christians, we are called to be
good stewards of all of God’s Creation. Contaminating the
environment, destroying our health and causing suffering to animals
do not honor God, and do not show obedience to our Creator. Factory
farming alone is responsible for 18% of the gases that contribute to
global warming. The transition to a plant-based diet can contribute
greatly to the restoration of the environment, and in participating
in the reconciliation of God’s Creation.
