Turkey abuse case reached to an end
A few months ago, the case of cruelty in a turkey farm in the UK
(Beck Farm) gained exposure after a video was released showing the
perpetrators hitting the turkeys with a bat (see
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/norfolk/4940366.stm).
Both men charged have been ordered to each perform 200 hours of
community service. One of the men, Allan, said he considered it a form
of anger relief, and their lawyer talked of how terrible the working
conditions must have been for the men.

Hopefully, people around the world who read this news will realize
that the conditions that these turkeys were raised under are beyond
imagination for the cruelty involved. While it’s true that the
conditions for workers in factory farms are deplorable, there is
absolutely no excuse for what these two men did to the turkeys. By
eating a plant-based diet we do not support the exploitation of animals
nor the bad condition for workers in this type of industries.
