Eye-opener?
Gordon Ramsay, the tough guy of British cuisine, got to see up-close
the way pigs are slaughtered for consumption.
Ramsey, watching how the 2 sows named Trinny and Susannah were turned
into food (going through the process of being stunned, chalked by the
hind legs and hoisted to the ceiling, their throats slit, the gurgling
of their throats as blood poured out of their bodies, their kicking,
being put in a scalding tank, shaved, disemboweled and finally hung in a
meat store) was pale, shaken and close to tears.
However, Ramsey will serve these sows as food to diners this week.
