One more reason not to eat eggs
Everyone tries avoid the risk of foodborne diseases since they are a
serious and growing problem and cause an estimated 76 million illnesses,
325,000 hospitalizations, and 5,000 deaths in the United States each
year.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report that
bacterial pathogens cause three-fourths of the outbreaks, being
Salmonella the causing for most of them. Therefore, besides the cruelty
involved in the production of eggs, the risk of getting sick by
consuming them is just one more reason not to eat them.
