Veal trade, the cruelty resumes
It seems that business and profit have taken away the best of us once
again. As stewards of God’s creation, we should be outraged and with
heavy hearts at the following news, since it only shows how humans can
make the lives of calves, sentient-beings, seen as just units of
production and decide their fate based on economic growth.
England has resumed their exportation of British calves, thus lifting
the ban imposed a decade ago due to “mad-cow” disease.
The Daily Mirror has teamed with Compassion in World Farming (CIWF)
in order to educate and inform the public about the horrible fate these
creatures will endure.
Unfortunately, even though veal crates have been made illegal in the
UK since 1990, the transported calves, upon arrival, are kept in this
same kind of crate.
