1. Emergent Diseases from Animal Origin
A new report from FAO
refers to diseases associated with animal foods, raising a concerned
that must be addressed. "Seventy percent of the new diseases that have
emerged in humans over recent decades are of animal origin and, in
part, directly related to the human quest for more animal-sourced
food..."

Victimizing God’s animals comes with a price, including
the one of emergent diseases. If we want a healthy, harmonious and
joyous world we need to stop promoting disease, violence and suffering
around us through the consumption of animal products. Peace, health
and joy indeed begin on our plate.

"Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food."

3. Plant-Based Diets are Becoming More Popular
Many are the signs that indicate that plant-based diets are becoming
more accepted and popular, such as: celebrity endorsement, expanded
accessibility in restaurants, increased demand of plant-based products
in stores, and more non-veg people know what “vegan” means.

signs the plant-based diet is mainstream and here to stay
Vegetarian and vegan diets are undeniably on the rise and as more
people realize that innumerable benefits of these diets, hopefully one
day in a not too far future veg diets will be the norm and eating
God’s animals will be seen as a barbaric act. Let’s all spread the
good news about plant-based diets to all of God’s Creation!
4.
Bible Verse
The apostle Paul wrote that our bodies are temples
of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19), and it follows that we should care
for our bodies as gifts from God. The largest organization of food and
nutrition professionals in the United States, the American Dietetic
Association, has endorsed well-planned vegetarian diets. In 2003, the
ADA noted...
“Vegetarians have been reported to have lower body mass
indices than nonvegetarians, as well as lower rates of death from
ischemic heart disease; vegetarians also show lower blood cholesterol
levels; lower blood pressure; and lower rates of hypertension, type 2
diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer.”
5. The Power of the
Beef Industry
In the U.S., every time a product containing beef is
bought, a portion of the cost is a tax on beef. What most people don’t
know is that this tax on beef goes to the National Cattlemen’s Beef
Association that in turn uses this public money to buy ads encouraging
people to eat more beef and to lobby efforts discouraging beef eating.

It’s incredible how much power the meat industry has been
given by the government and the power it has within the government,
and therefore the power this industry has on what people eat. While
this industry might seem too powerful to ever collapse we ought to
remember that great part of their power comes from consumers who
support it by eating their products.
