1. Preparing for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is coming up and already, thanks to the animal advocacy
movement, many people will choose a compassionate meal in order to
alleviate the suffering of farmed animals, especially turkeys. However,
the majority of people are still unaware of the unimaginable pain and
suffering these animals undergo for the sake of taste and profit. Please
share this article with friends and family to expose the reality of the
lives of farmed turkeys, by visiting Thanksgiving is coming
2. Famous Quote
"The first time I ever entered a battery house I thought it was
the entrance to Hell" ~ Violet Spalding, co-founder of Chicken's Lib
in 1973, later known as Farm Animal Welfare Network (FAWN).
3. Tyson Foods Looking into Global Expansion
Tom Philpott is the Grist's food editor and founder of Maverick
Farms, a sustainable-agriculture non-profit and small farm located in
the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. He writes about
Tyson Foods, one of the two largest beef packers, the second-largest
pork packer, and the second-largest chicken producer in the US, which is
planning to expand to Brazil, India, China, and the entire global south.
Tyson was the innovator of the "vertical-integration" strategy that now
dominates meat production by owning mega-packer breeders,
slaughterhouses, and processing farms leaving the risky job of raising
the animals to farmers working on contract. Philpott, rightly says that
Tyson is "actively pursuing a nightmare vision for the globe."

The devastation that companies such as Tyson Foods create in God's
Creation is so great that humans, animals and the environment are deeply
affected. It is up to us, the consumers, to stop these companies from
expanding by not supporting them.
4. (RSV) Psalm 1:1-2
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor
stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his
delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and
night.
God gave us the free will and the responsibility to choose who to
listen and who to follow, dealing also with the consequences. When we
choose to follow God's ways, we honor our Lord.
5. Agriprocessors’ Gruesome Cruelty
Agriprocessors, a kosher processing plant in Iowa, faces nearly $10
million in civil penalties for repeated labor law violations dating back
to January 2006. It has now filed for bankruptcy and is seeking to
restructure. In addition, on Halloween, nearly half the chickens coming
down their conveyor belts were already dead, many so rotted that their
legs would fall out of their body when workers tried to pick them up.
Trucks full of poultry had been left at the plant for days leaving an
estimated 1,000 birds with no water or food.

The conditions that workers and God's animals must endure in factory
farms are an offense to God. There is absolutely no excuse to the
suffering inflicted on God's animals for the sake of greed. As long as
people keep following their pleasure-dominated minds, there is no hope
for a peaceful and harmonious world.
6. Another Documented Case of Cruelty to Turkeys
An undercover video taken at the Aviagen Turkeys plant in Lewisburg,
West Virginia shows turkeys being stomped to death and punched by
workers. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, (PETA), is asking
for prosecution of workers at the Aviagen plant. On the tape, one worker
describes losing his temper at a tom who pecked him, marking its head
with a pen so he could find it again, fetching a broomstick, ramming it
down the bird’s gullet and holding it up in the air while shouting “Let
this be a lesson to y’all” at the rest of the flock. To read the full

Unfortunately, the above case of cruelty to God’s animals is not an
isolated event, rather a common and widespread one. This upcoming
Thanksgiving celebration means misery and pain to turkeys and other
farmed animals for the sole purpose of taste, greed and profit. Share
this article with family and friends to expose the cruelty involved in
raising animals for food, and maybe more people will choose a peaceful
and cruelty-free Thanksgiving meal, honoring God’s Creation.
