1. Activist Feedback
Lorena, who tabled with friend at the Atlanta VegFest, writes:
We had a great turnout at the Atlanta VegFest. Lots of people stopped at our table, asked many questions, congratulated us for having a presence at the VegFest and for representing compassionate Christians. People took our different booklets and also bought DVDs and bumper stickers.
I brought vegan cupcakes that attracted people to our table and started conversations.
Thanks for the opportunity to spread our message!

Inner Feelings Should Lead Us Heavenward
3. The November 2015 Issue of The Peaceable Table Is Now Online
Contents include:
The Editor's Corner Essay, "The Three Rings and the One Ring," considers the
theme of power in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, power that
dominates and destroys versus power used to create, preserve, and heal.
Clearly, the lords of animal agribusiness are overwhelmingly doing the
former, whereas activists intend the latter, though we don't always live up
to our noble intentions.
Angie Cordeiro's new Recipe for Creamy Carrot Soup. With only four
ingredients, you won't believe how good it is, for both taste buds and
health.
Have you seen The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate, the subject of the November Children's Book Review? It's a promising Christmas or Chanukkah present for your middle-school-aged child/grandchild to curl up with (after you've finished it yourself). Besides being entertained by the adventures of two animal-loving children, the reader will learn a great deal about unusual animals, natural history, and the culture of a century ago.
The Poetry selection, reflecting the power theme of the editorial essay, is Tolkien's untitled "Three rings for the Elven kings . .", the epigraph to his great fantasy novel.

Many of the people who go veg give up after awhile--in fact, there are more ex-vegetarians and ex-vegans than the number that stay the course, especially among those who lack adequate support. Online communities can help meet that need. Vegetarian Friends is planning a forum with discussions to cover several areas, such as PT, health, compassion, stresses among family and friends, recipe sharing, and the like. Stay tuned.
