Diet Trumps Genetics

As it turns out, our genes don't dictate our destiny... at least not entirely, according to Jason Shon Bennett, an Auckand-based health researcher and author. His studies of centenarian cultures around the world where they eat predominately a plant-based diet led him to conclude that avoiding animal products and eating a plant-based diet with mostly unprocessed, whole foods can prevent and reverse most of the typical chronic diseases that are found in societies where animal products are abundant.

Itís no surprise that eating foods that leave a small footprint on the planet and that donít require the abusing and killing of Godís creatures are also very good for our health. Eating a plant-based diet is a good way to be good stewards of our bodies.
