Will Potter, a journalist, TED Fellow and author of Green Is the New Red: An Insider's Account of a Social Movement Under Siege, explains why “ag-gag” laws are a serious risk to lawful and constitutionally protected news gathering activity by making it illegal to photograph or videotape animal cruelty on factory farms and slaughterhouses. He is right in that it’s time to overturn these ag-gag laws so consumers can truly have the freedom of choice once they are exposed to the truth behind the animal agriculture industry.
The moment that an industry hides their practices from consumers we learn
that they are afraid of losing consumers if they only knew the truth.
Otherwise, they’d have nothing to hide because they’d have nothing to fear.
Let’s all work hard to expose the animal agriculture industry and to
pressure government officials to overturn ag-gag laws.
