Cows Mourn and Suffer

October 2013: Neighbors around Sunshine Dairy Farm in Newbury, MA called the police to check on strange, distress sounds. Upon inspection the police reassured them that nobody was in distress and that it was simply cows mourning the loss of having been separated from their newborn calves. According to police this happens every year.

“Residents in the area of Sunshine Dairy Farm may notice loud noises coming from the dairy cows at all hours of the day and night. We’ve been informed that the cows are not in distress and that the noises are a normal part of farming practices.”

Not in distress??!! Cows mourn and suffer much like humans; and therefore, separating them from their babies is cruel. Anyone who consumes dairy is supporting this very inhumane “standard” practice of not allowing calves stay with their mothers as God intended.
