A happy ending
CBS ran on Feb 7th the follow-up story of Herbie, a calf, who on his way to slaughter, made a escape in Brooklyn, NY eluding the cops. Finally, Herbie was taken to a shelter after thousands of people showed concern for the animal.
Due to the public pressure, Herbie thankfully was not returned to the owner, and instead was adopted by a vegan couple in NJ who recently adopted a friend for Herbie.
