1. Activist Feedback
This weekend I leafleted at a Promise Keepers event in Cleveland
and distributed 350 “Would Jesus Eat Meat Today?” booklets. The
reception rate was high, and I found that I did best when 1-3 people
approached than when there was a larger group. With only a moment to
talk as they passed, I would say, “About faithful and healthy eating.”
Only a few people returned the booklet, and only a couple shouted,
“Yes, he would” in response to the booklet’s title question. Overall,
it was a very positive experience.

3. New Blog
I have brought my blog to completion. My son Calvin, after
reading the blog, was inspired to write a song, which is now my final
post. He has agreed to be my editor, and my hope and plan is to
turn the completed blog into a book. I have been trying to tell
a story through the blog, beginning with my earliest memories of
experiences with animals, through to my present anguish over what I
have come to know about their suffering at the hands of my own kind.
I want to make a difference in the world, to relieve animal suffering
by nurturing human awareness and empathy, and to promote kindness and
compassion in a world filled with unimaginable cruelty. This
blog/book is my first attempt to do so. I do not expect it to be
my last.
