Slaughterhouses
Slaughterhouses are places of horror and death. In a single slaughterhouse in the US, 11, 000 pigs are killed every day. This appalling fact is shown by featuring a bloodless picture: a pile of 11,000 pig ear-tags. These tags represent the cruel and unjust reality that pigs are not sentient individuals to the pig industry, but simple commodities seen as pounds of flesh.

Just the word “slaughterhouse” should send shudders down through our spine. The fact that we have places removed from most people’s view where innocent, sentient beings are brutally killed in a systematic, legal manner is simply barbaric.
