The pig who escaped slaughter… for now
One of our CVA sustaining members sent us this article that refers to a pig being transported to slaughter. The female pig might have realized something was going to happen since she made an escape from a truck on what seems a busy highway. Although the pig was found unharmed and had to be tranquilized with shots, her future it still unknown. Ironically, Robinson, the pig owner stated, ““Even though I was taking the pig to slaughter, I didn’t want it injuring itself by throwing itself on the highway.”

Most people are unaware of the pain, suffering and terror farmed animals suffer at slaughterhouses. Taking the life of an animal is considered a casual act, not one with moral implications; and it is us, Christian vegetarians, who play a crucial role in informing the public of the atrocities of factory farming through not only our words but our example.
