Doctors from India’s Government General Hospital announced at a scientific conference in Vancouver, Canada, that according to a recent analysis people who ate smoked meat were nine times more likely to develop cancer than people who did not.
Previously, also the The National Cancer Institute in the USA has linked barbequed or grilled meat to cancer.
Cancer-causing agents are been found in cooked meat, and the link between cooked meats and certain cancers seems to be strong. On the other hand, plant-based foods contain phytochemicals, which are anti-cancer agents. So, eating a well-balanced, whole-foods, plant-based diet may cut down significantly our rates of cancer.
