Yesterday we celebrated the life and tremendous accomplishments
of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who set an example of how one man can
bring about tremendous social change. Like him, many other social
justice leaders around the world are well-known for their stance on
non-violence and justice not only toward humans but also toward
non-human animals. Learn here about 9 of these exemplary people who
lead the movement that makes the world a better and more just place.

Nine social justice leaders you never knew were veg.
When we stand for non-violence and social justice, we stand in
behalf of all the oppressed, whether human or non-human, because the
victimization of those who cannot defend themselves takes the same
form and entails the exploitation of those who cannot defend
themselves. These victims, however, don’t have to be voiceless. We
have the moral obligation and also the privilege to speak up for and
be examples of justice, compassion and love.
