With the upcoming ban of foie gras (French term for fatty liver)
production in California and its potential repercussions around the
country, producers are trying their best to appeal to consumers. One
producer in NY, Hudson Valley Foie Gras, opened its doors to a CNN
reporter in order to let consumers see what really is behind foie gras
production. From the raising of baby ducks to their force-feeding and
slaughter, readers can get informed and ultimately decide the fate of
foie gras.

In spite of producers’ attempts to make foie gras production look
harmless and innocent, it still remains as the totally unnecessary
victimization of ducks and geese. Force-feeding any creature goes
against their God-given nature and it causes stress, pain and fear.
After all, how many people have ever seen a duck or a geese walking
happily toward being force-fed?
As long as we keep
rationalizing the exploitation of God’s animals we cannot even pretend
we are being good stewards of God’s Creation for this role implies
caring and respecting all creatures.
