Mislabeled Vegan Foods at UGA

To the surprise of students, some of the food available to vegans at the University of Georgia (UGA) was mislabeled by the dietary staff and was found to contain dairy and eggs. Due to this misinformation two vegan students decided to drop their meal plans. "We constantly identify items that are vegan," said J. Michael Floyd, University executive director of Food Services, in a phone interview on Friday. "The problem we deal with sometimes is that the manufacturer of the product has changed [the ingredients] and they don't inform of us that."
