Live Earth Controversy
Animal advocates are complaining
that green-themed Live Earth
organizers plan to allow the selling of meat products at their
concerts around the world in the name of curbing global warming.
Evidence shows that about 18% of green house gases are produced by
animals raised for food; therefore, a contradiction would exist if
an event that is supposedly eco-friendly will not require only
plant-based food at their concerts.

Can Live Earth organizers keep green methods in their planning?
Factory farming contributes to
global warming; degradation of soil; contamination of water, soil
and air; depletion of nonrenewable resources; and causes
unimaginable misery to God’s animals raised for food. If we want to
be consistent with our Christian Faith, we need to try to be good
stewards of God’s Creation to the best of our abilities. Adopting a
plant-based diet honors God by reflecting compassion, respect and
concern for Creation.
