1. Swine Factory Farms Affecting Poor People’s Lives Negatively and Damaging the Environment

North Carolina, the second-largest pork producer in the United States, is on the spotlight once again for its polluting pork industry. Residents in Duplin County are speaking up about the lawsuit filed against Murphy Brown, the pork production arm of Smithfield Foods. It turns out that the cesspools, or uncovered waste lagoons from factory farms, have affected their lives in a negative way making it almost unbearable to live in that area.

Pork production is cruel, is bad for people and bad for the environment. Pork production goes against being good stewards of God’s creation.

2. This Week’s Famous Quote

As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony between people. Slaughter and justice cannot dwell together.
—Isaac Bashevis Singer, writer and Nobel laureate (1902–1991)

3. Humanity Should Embrace a Plant-Based Diet

Humanity needs to stop eating animals. It’s destructive to the environment, cruel to farm animals, and bad for our health. And the math is simple: if humanity embraced a plant-based diet we’d solve the most serious environmental problems and reduce the most voluminous torturing and killing of animals.

Please visit We all need to stop eating meat now, and this why.

Eating God’s animals is at the root of our misery and the misery we cause to other creatures. We need to reclaim the psychology and physiology of peace we’ve been given by our Creator. Only then we’ll see healing and reconciliation on Earth.

4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV) James 2:13

For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment.

Mercy is essential in order to be true followers of Jesus Christ. Are we being obedient to God if we treat God's animals with no mercy? Let's all ask ourselves this question when choosing what we eat.

5. Idaho Ag-Gag Bill Overturned!

Thanks to the tireless work of coalition groups, the Ag-Gag Law in Idaho is dead, overturned by Chief Judge B. Lynn Winmill who declared it unconstitutional.
