1. Ditch the Animal Flesh!

A Swedish study indicates that men who ate the most processed red meat had a 28 percent higher risk of heart failure and twice the risk of dying over a 12-year period compared to men who ate the least. In fact, this study adds to the incredible amount of evidence suggesting that both processed meat and red meat are associated with a higher risk of heart disease and cancer, which are the top two killers in most developed countries.

Taste is very powerful, but our values and beliefs should be more powerful. It is when we align our beliefs with our choices that we make decisions that benefit all of Godís Creation: our health, other creatures and the planet. Ditch the flesh of animals and feel better!

2. Famous Quote

"He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals."
~Immanuel Kant

3. Dr. Dean Ornish on Heart-Disease

Dr. Dean Ornish, a pioneer in reversing heart-disease through lifestyle changes, explains why diet, exercise and stress management are crucial in the prevention and reversal of heart-disease. He favors lifestyle changes over surgery and medication.

Itís good news to learn that compassionate, loving and sustainable choices lead to good health and harmony. It makes sense that when we donít abuse and kill Godís animals for the sake of taste, convenience and tradition, we reap healthfulness and inner-peace.

4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Deuteronomy 10:14

"Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it.Ē

Everything belongs to God and we have been given the privilege and responsibility to take care of it. It is then, when we assume this role, that we embrace a lifestyle that accords with it: a compassionate, sustainable and just one.

5. Animal Agriculture Devastating for Human Health

Animal agriculture is incredibly devastating to humanity. It turns out that about 70% of human diseases are linked to animal agriculture, according to a new United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report. These new findings have tremendous implications on how we choose to feed the world.

We should do everything we can to move away from animal agriculture and feed the world with plant-based foods. Itís the ethical, most compassionate and sustainable think to do.

6. This Weekís Video: Illegal Drugs in Chickens' Feathers

By testing chicken feathers for chemical residues, researchers aim to find out what the poultry industry is feeding their birds. The presence of banned drugs and a broad range of pharmaceuticals raises concern, recalling the time in which DES was fed to chickens for years after it was shown to cause human vagina cancer.
