1. Raising God’s Animals for Food is Devastating for the Planet

The animal agriculture industry is destroying the planet. It contributes to global warming, loss of biodiversity and devastation, threatening the livelihood of not only humans but other species. Moreover, the health issues related to eating animal products are exacerbating everywhere in the world as more countries adopt a Western diet.

Raising God’s animals for food is the cause for the major environmental and health problems, aside from being the root of unimaginable violence. The solution to such enormous problems seem unattainable to many; however, looking deep into these problems we might see that the solution is an easy one: showing compassion to all creatures and transitioning to a plant-based diet.

2. This Week’s Famous Quote

Every day forty thousand children die in the world for lack of food. We, who overeat in the West, who are feeding grains to animals to make meat, are eating the flesh of these children.

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

3.  Eggs Move Aside! Eggless Eggs Are Here

Eggless eggs have been hatched. Hampton Foods, one of Bill Gate’s investments, continues to improve their eggless eggs. As the human population grows, so does the demand for animal products. According to the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization by 2030 the demand for eggs is expected to climb to 38 million tons. Replacing eggs with a non-animal product substitute could effectively easy the burden on the environment and reduce hunger around the world.

Egg production is probably the cruelest industry among those that exploit God’s animals. Egg laying hens and their chicks are egregiously abused from birth to death with sheer merciless.

The egg industry also uses tremendous amounts of natural resources and pollutes the environment. From every perspective, supporting the egg industry shows disrespect to God, to His/Her creation and to us.

4. This Week’s Bible Verse

In Genesis 2:15, God instructed Adam to “till” and “keep” the Garden of Eden, and by analogy we may see caring for God’s Creation as our sacred task. The typical meat eater’s diet can require up to 14 times more water and 20 times more energy than that of a vegetarian. Indeed, current use of land, water, and energy is not sustainable; resource depletion threatens to cause hardships for humankind this century.

5. Fish Production Hits Record High

According to the UN’s Rome-based Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) the total world production of fish will hit a record high by the end of this year with over 160 million metric tons.

The massacre of God's fish, the devastation of the oceans and the abuse our fellow humans endure because of the demand for fish are reaching unimaginable proportions. Clearly, this goes against honoring God's Creation and our true essence of love.
